Jessica Harvey

My passion for supporting others led me to earn my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Since 2007, I’ve worked at various mental health facilities in San Francisco and the larger Bay Area, providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. So as to have the flexibility to use an integrative approach with clients who have a broad range of concerns, I opened my private practice in 2011 and and expanded to add Oregon in 2019. I strive to utilize the most appropriate interventions and supportive techniques, with the overall intention of helping my clients identify their own goals and realize positive change in their lives. I am now able to successfully work with clients in both Oregon and California (remotely) to provide the best services across a larger geographical area.

My Philosophy

Most of us face many challenges and conflicts that, if left unaddressed, can lead to stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and low self-esteem. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and confidential environment in which to begin exploring these kinds of concerns. My approach to therapy is collaborative, goal-oriented, and deeply respectful of each client’s individuality. I utilize a variety of evidence-based and solution-focused strategies, and believe that working with clients’ inherent strengths helps them to navigate life’s inevitable obstacles.

I strive to develop a therapeutic relationship that is full of trust and empathy, with the understanding that each client is different and faces unique challenges. As your therapist, I will work with you to develop customized, specific plans to achieve your individual goals and to resolve any of your personal and interpersonal challenges. I try to bring my own enthusiasm and humor to sessions, when appropriate, as I believe that the change process, while often challenging, can sometimes be enjoyable.
